Airdrop #2 Completed!

The completion of our second airdrop marks a major milestone: 50M HVLO tokens distributed to 6,684 Solana wallets. With over 38,210 wallets participating in Season 2 of our airdrop, the scale of engagement continues to show that our model is resonating even as we remain in beta. But this drop wasn’t just about numbers. It was about fairness, strengthening the Hive, and rewarding genuine contributors.

Why We Did Things Differently

After Airdrop #1, we learned a lot. This time, our goal was clear: build a strong community of legitimate, active contributors while filtering out those attempting to game the system.

  • Ensuring fairness → Our checks flagged 3,600 wallets that showed node activity but not a single cent in on-chain earnings. These accounts were clearly attempting to game our airdrop, so they were excluded and rewards went to contributors who genuinely supported the network. The result: 45% more tokens for authentic node runners.

  • $1 minimum threshold → Gas fees can sting, especially for smaller rewards. By setting a $1 cut-off, we made sure every reward sent was worth more than the cost of claiming it. If you earned less than $1, your points are safe, they’ll roll over and give you a head start in Airdrop #3 (end of 2025).

  • Referrals → The community played a huge role with 5,200 successful referrals that met all the criteria. This continues to be one of the best opportunities to earn extra points with 10,000 points available for each eligible referral in Airdrop #3.

  • Gas & Network fees → As with all withdrawals, gas fees were borne by the node runner. For new wallets, Solana network charges meant their distribution was reduced by 1,000 HVLO compared to wallets that had already received tokens.

When it came to distribution, we also put careful thought into the details. To avoid a situation where gas fees would negate a small reward, we set a $1 minimum threshold. If you earned less than $1, don’t worry your points and earnings are safe and will be carried over, giving you a head start for Airdrop #3. Speaking of which, please note that the gas fees for Airdrop #2 are covered by the Node Runner.

The Distribution in Numbers

Here’s how the 50M HVLO was distributed among the 6,684 wallets that qualified:

  • Highest reward: $43.16
  • 10th highest reward: $31.70
  • 100th highest reward: $12.13
  • Node Runners airdrop that received > $10: 171
  • Node Runners airdrop that received > $5: 646
